Buhari Unveils Tinubu’s Manifesto, Policy Document Friday

…Finally Launches APC Presidential Campaign Council

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Friday unveil the manifesto and policy document of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

This will be done at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.

At the event, Buhari will also inaugurate the APC Presidential Campaign Council to formally kick-start the party’s campaign ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In September, it was reported how the inauguration of the party’s 422-member Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) had to be called off due to reasons best known to the party at least two occasions.

According to sources, Tinubu left Nigeria at midnight on Saturday, September 24 for London.

The former Lagos governor left Nigeria to see his doctors at a Central London Clinic.

“Our principal, Tinubu is sick and tired. He is expected to see his doctors in London today at a Central London Clinic,” a source had told our correspondent.

“He left Nigeria 12 midnight on Saturday. He ought to have launched the Presidential Campaign Council today but it was postponed till Wednesday for President Muhammadu Buhari to return from the US. However, it has now been postponed indefinitely.

The President is the chairman of the APC campaign council and has said he will personally lead his party’s campaign and deliver the votes to ensure the victory of Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

President Buhari is expected to mobilise votes in the North for Tinubu because of his popularity in the region.

At the ongoing three-day ministerial retreat in Abuja, Buhari reeled out what he described as achievements of his administration across all sectors, especially in infrastructure and agriculture.

Meanwhile, Tinubu had said he would continue with the programmes of the Buhari administration, especially where successes have been recorded and improve on areas there are still challenges.

According to Tinubu, he will sustain the legacy of Buhari if elected President.

The list of the leadership of the APC campaign council was released about three weeks ago and it generated some controversy among party chieftains and key stakeholders who alleged that some party interests were not carried along.

Western Post gathered that Tinubu directed the management of the campaign organisation especially the Secretary of the Council, James Faleke to liaise with governors on the platform of the party, Adamu and other aggrieved stakeholders to harmonise their positions.

A source in APC told Western Post that with the final harmonisation of the list and directors, the campaign council was fully ready to begin campaigns across the country, with President Buhari taking the lead.

“APC and our candidates are ready to start our campaign now. We have a united front and full housekeeping has been done.

“The President will inaugurate the campaign council on Friday and also launch our manifesto which we are taking to Nigerians.

“We are sure of victory because Nigerians still trust APC and believe in our Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver the goods. Our candidate is competent and he is the best among all contestants,” the source told Western Post.
