Bolodeoku Celebrates 60th Birthday, Retirement in Style

A multi award winning educationist and Principal of CMS Senior Girls Grammar School in Somolu area of Lagos state, Mrs Funmilayo Bolodeoku, has celebrated her retirement from active service in grand style.

Bolodeoku, who celebrated her retirement and 60th birthday simultaneously at the Imperial Hall in Alausa, Ikeja, dressed in an elegant wear with glittering materials that got the attention of her guests.

Welcoming the guests, Dr. A.M Oladepo said that he felt great seeing the overwhelming number of attendees and their contagious enthusiasm.

Oladepo added that the Celebrant spent over 30 years leading students and people while in public service and 60 years on earth.

He explained the essence of the teaching profession, saying that the Celebrant’s years in service were for nurturing human resources for the development of the nation.

In an interview with journalists, the Celebrant explained her humble beginning in the public service, saying that it was perseverance, commitment and dutiful that helped her in excelling in her career.

Bolodeoku explained further that her trust in God and appetite to succeed in her career enhanced her productivity while in active service.

She advised her colleagues to be steadfast and dutiful in their job, adding that it would pay off at the end of the day.

The Celebrant called on government to always be fast in paying the gratuity and pension of retirees, saying that they had paid their dues by serving the nation meticulously.

Speaking on behalf of the School’s Alumni, the National President of the old students, Barr. Adeola Adetugboboh, showered encomium on Bolodeoku, describing her as a committed Principal.

Adetugboboh stated that when the Alumni had of her retirement, they felt they would be missing a transformational leader who meant well for the growth of the school.

The National President added ” You have special leadership abilities and charismatic personality which are readily apparent. You are energetic, determined, visionary, collaborative, goal-oriented and a caring person who loves the people around you.

” You are the lamp holder that illuminates even the darkest of streets- a role model who must be emulated. You transformed our dear school CMS Girls Grammar School, Akoka, Lagos to a Mega School during your tenure. This will remain evergreen in our memory. Sincerely, you have been the best leader that anyone could ask for, the school will not be the same without you”.

Some of the personalities who witnessed the event were, Somolu Zone ANCOPSS Chairman, Olubunmi Onagbesa, Vice Principal, CMS Girls Grammar School, Executives of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Royal King of Ifetedo, Oba Akinola Oyetade.

Special prayers and short exhortation were delivered by Rev. Dr. E.A Akinrodoye from The African Church in Ondo state while the guests were entertained by a Juju musical team and a Cultural group of the school.
