What promised to be one in town 70th birthday celebration of the ‘Last Man Standing’ Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday March 29, 2022 was put-off due to the bombed Kaduna-Abuja train tragedy that befell the country on Monday March 28, 2022.
The venue had been lit up with eminent Nigerians entering into the event hall from VVIP demarcated part way while Tope Ajayi subjected journalists to unnecessary scrutiny, while he kept some of us at bail, and he turned the Media pass to ‘paddy paddy event and he was giving the pass to some of his cronies.
The celebration had started with a prayer at the residence of the celebrant in Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Some of the dignitaries present at the prayer included; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife, Ibijoke, former governor and current Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Babatunde Fashola, former APC chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and many others.
The atmosphere was right, the hall was filled to the brim, the event had kicked started with a national anthem rendered, with Gbenga Adeyinka (The 1st) directing proceedings on the stage.
Governors were already seated, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, Royal fathers; Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Obateru Akin, Senators, both present and former, House of Assembly members, captains of industries, business moguls, politicians and more were all eager to listen to the celebrant’s address at the gathering.
Behold! with deep sense of humour and apathy, ‘Jagaban’ addressed the guests and the cancelation of the colloquium to mark his 70th birthday gig.
Our Editor, Abiola Sanni covered few faces of the dignitaries present at the bash.
