Justin: IGP Orders Immediate Replacement of Adamawa CP

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the immediate removal of Commissioner of Police Election in Adamawa State as a result of the crisis that erupted following the illegal announcement of the governorship election result by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Yunusa Ari. The CP Election has therefore been replaced by the Gombe State Commissioner of Lagos, Etim Oqua.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, CP Oqua, who assumes duty immediately, will ensure a more secure and peaceful process of the Electoral process in the state.
Recall that the REC, against constituted authority, announced the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Binani, as winner of the election while collation process was still ongoing leading to the intervention of INEC and his subsequent suspension.
Adejobi also noted that the Police, though yet to receive any letter from INEC, will ahead and thoroughly investigate the Adamawa incident in collaboration with INEC, adding that the Police is committed to having a perfect process.
